Carmelina arranged something special, she held an album release party for her debut album "Morena" (Morena Records, 2009) with the children from class 1-104.  Since Kindergarten and the celebration with Sesame Street icon “Maria” (Sonia Manzano) at the Children’s Aid Society to raise funds for New York Public Schools, children have become an integral part of Carmelina's motivation to incorporate the community into her musical career.

"We had a great time, the children formed circles and danced to 'Mueve Las Caderas' and I introduced two new songs 'Viva La Musica' and 'Work it' - which they loved.  Children are very honest and I was so happy they enjoyed it," muses Carmelina.

The entire class received Carmelina's new album in their backpacks as they sailed into Summer break - with song and dance.
